In response to student desire for a late night gathering place
on campus, the Duquesne Union NiteSpot was created.
During May through August of 2000, the old bowling
alleys were beautifully transformed into a recreation/lounge
area known as the NiteSpot.
The NiteSpot has computers for Internet browsing.
It is equipped with two billiards tables,
two ping-pong tables, foosball, skee-ball, and basketball games.
The lounge area has soft, comfortable sofas
and chairs, four different video game consoles
such as PS3, X-Box 360, and Nintendo
Wii. Playing cards and numerous board games are
available. The Nitespot also offers a 50" HD TV with Surround Sound for your viewing pleasure.
The popular facility is
open 10:00 AM – Midnight Sundays through
Wednesdays, and features special late-night
programs until 2:00 AM on Thursdays, Fridays,
and Saturdays. These special late-night programs
also provide free snacks, cappuccino, and soft
drinks which begin at 10:00 PM. Please keep
in mind that all activities, programs, snacks,
and drinks are FREE to Duquesne Students.
Join us for TOURNAMENT NIGHT on Tuesday night's at 9:00 PM with free wings and beverages as you compete against your classmates.
Time is set aside each Wednesday night for LET YOUR LIGHT SHINE at
9:00 PM as student organizations have an opportunity to showcase their talents. For more information about LET YOUR LIGHT SHINE, contact Mike Cecil at (412) 396-1987 or via e-mail at cecil@duq.edu
Thursday night programs begin at 8:00 PM with BINGO NIGHT and complimentary beverages. At 10:00 PM COLOR OUTSIDE THE LINES focuses
on creative arts and crafts such wind chimes,
gift bags, cork boards, and potter painting.
**Don't forget, late-night Thursday events are included in the Late Night Loot Program.
On Fridays, the Duquesne Program
Council's DUNites provide a variety of entertainment
such as tie dye nights, build-a-bear workshops,
and special performances. On select nights, a caricature artist is also available.
DPC also provides the movies
for Saturday’s Late Night Movie series. Watch out for Movie Marathons this semester!
Although these special late-night
programming brings a lively crowd to the Nitespot,
it does not interfere with those who still wish
to browse the Internet, or participate in the
NiteSpot’s other attractions. The NiteSpot
has quickly become a popular daytime lounging
and recreation place for students; as well as
a great late-night place to spend leisure time
with friends until 2:00 A.M. on Thursdays, Fridays,
and Saturdays.

CALENDAR for specific times and dates.
